Everyday Roots is a goldmine for anyone who is ready to live closer to nature.
And, if you're here reading this now, that's probably you.
What's Everyday Roots About?
Written by Claire Goodall, an old soul, nature junkie, and natural health advocate… The 326 page book explains the types of natural remedies and resources your ancestors may have used.
Claire grew up in a little cabin in Minnesota close to nature. In 2009, she was run-down and sick of feeling the side effects of the medications she was taking, so she set out to find safer, more natural way to live her life. The result was Everyday Roots.
So, whether you're looking to make less toxic cleaners, or you want to create a new lifestyle… Claire will show you how to live a life free from toxic products and medicines.
How Everyday Roots Works

My Thoughts
Immediately I felt the love and care that went into writing this book. As someone who creates content, I could tell a lot of time
and thought went into creating it.
There are loads of pictures and simple, clear instruction. Also, almost all the recommended ingredients come from just a few sources, which is convenient.
I'd been wanting to reduce plastic use and toxic fumes of cleaning products. So, my first project was creating the cleaner for our garbage disposal which sometimes off-gasses and smells pretty bad. To my surprise, it worked AMAZINGLY well.
And, I didn't know making liquid laundry detergent is one of the easiest DIY projects ever! Just 4 ingredients. Best of all, the whites might actually be whiter…sans the bleach. No doubt because she instructs how much soap to use. Did you know using too much detergent actually makes your clothes dirtier? dingier? Using more detergent is not the answer to cleaner clothes.
And the recipe for oatmeal baths… I'm certain I'll make more for Christmas gifts this year.
For me, the gold in Everyday Roots was the recipes for personal and cleaning products. I'm making the Vanilla Brown Sugar Scrub and a dish soap next.
To sum up, Everyday Roots took me deeper into a more natural way of living, that I feel good about.

No Glossary
One item that's missing from Everyday Roots is a detailed glossary. With the vast amount of herbs and recipes included, it would make it easier to flip right to the kernel of sought-after information. Hopefully, with the next update, she'll include it.
Not a Medical Professional
Claire is not a medical doctor. But, she makes that clear right on page 1. Furthermore, she doesn't pretend to be one. Rather, she offers her experiences and research into more than two hundred solutions for a healthier body and home.
Ebook Format Only
The book is only available in Ebook format. (You didn't think she would cut down a tree did you? 😉
Final Thoughts
If you're not ready to jump in with both feet, it's okay to start changing your lifestyle slowly. I like to start with a few suggestions, master it and then try another.
Most of all, getting rid of unnecessary chemicals in products can only have a positive impact on your life and the planet.
The book is delivered in a printable PDF format for $37, and it includes two other bonus books.
Everyday Herbs goes into more detail about twenty-four beneficial herbs that are used in many of the recipes.
107 Everyday Uses for Coconut Oil is a compilation of 107
ways to use this wonder oil and recipes for how to prepare it.
